mission| who

Winds of Change was founded in 1998 with two main goals:
To broaden the bandwidth of recognized leadership voices both in the US and beyond with a primary focus on women’s voices and leadership styles; Secondly, to support the understanding that women’s issues are social issues.

We began by meeting with women leaders and researching the scholarship of leadership, resulting in the report, "Inside Women's Power: Learning from Leaders." We also created the "Women in Leadership Working Group," a gathering of women leaders from across the nation, and the Young Women's Leadership Summit.

At the close of 2001 we took pause to reflect and determined to move from programmatic--offering events and forums for the exploration of issues--to pragmatic, offering information and financial resources to turn that knowledge into action.

Currently, we focus on:

  • Strategic investment in initiatives that advance opportunities for women to lead effectively.
  • Advocacy that raises awareness of the importance of women in leadership.
  • Consulting for organizations on vision, strategy and board development
