Women in Leadership Working GroupThirty-eight nationally accomplished women gathered in San Francisco on April 19, 2001 for an in-depth discussion and exploration of the future of women and leadership. Winds of Change hosted this unique opportunity for directors of advocacy organizations, leaders of academic institutions, researchers, activists, and funders. In two days of intensive discussions one-on-one and in groups, these powerful women leaders leveraged one anothers abilities, creativity and resources. The Foundation chose an unusual strategy: a working group. Instead of creating an advisory body to provide feedback and information to guide the Foundations preconceived agenda, Winds of Change created a dynamic agenda. Each member of the Group actively participated in challenging difficult discussions that led to a number of new ideas, collaboration, and projects. Here is the executive summary on the ideas and next steps generated at the April 19th, 2001 Women in Leadership Working Group. Women in Leadership Working GroupApril 19-21, 2001, San Francisco
